Hmm... A perfect day... wat makes up a perfect day for you? A good and bright start in the morning? Or a cool rainy weather which my bao bei favours... (can't understand why also...) Or when everything juz goes smoothly like the traffic lights turning green for you at every junction?? *wink*
I had my perfect day on Saturday... Thinking about it juz makes me all warm and fuzzy... *cuddles*
I woke up in the morning without the use of the alarm clock, with totally nothing to worry about... No stress up in the mind... Coz it's a weekend!!! Yes, it only comes after 5 HARD-working days... It feels great to wake up and tell yourself, it's a saturday... And I can drag myself to wash up without worrying about meeting the time to leave for work...
Next, i went out to get myself some brunch... Yes... B-r-u-n-c-h... Lovely 2 in 1 meals which you can enjoy when you wake up suitably late... This was followed by some groceries shopping at the supermarket... It could all have been better if i have bao bei with me, as it's our favourite place to shop...
Spending the rest of the lazy afternoon clearing my mailbox and doing some reading will be an ideal schedule, which i proudly did!! Though i wished i can go on forever, reading my materials, i have to meet bao bei for our wonderful dinner that i had planned...
I picked bao bei up before heading to this restaurant at cantonment road, called Mariners' Corner...
It's a restaurant decked in
'marine attire', as the name suggests, serving the regular western seafood, steaks and spaghettis... Although the restaurant is in a
'marine attire', dun expect the waitresses to be in hot leathery sailor suits, or even sailor moon uniforms... the staff are generally of mature uncles and aunties...
Upon entering, this nice uncle served us, telling us the soup of the day, and recommending us the scallops as appetisers...
'Do you wan to try our cheese-baked scallops for appetiser, very nice!!'Just then, Class 95 was playing our song in the background...
"Everytime our eyes meet... this feeling inside me... is more than words could ever say..."
*Bao bei and i juz gaze at each other lovingly... =) *
Below is the wonderful line-up of our feast...
Soup of the day: Mushroom soup ($3), served with lightly toasted garlic bread... The butter spread's aroma was stronger than the garlic stench, leaving room for some breath-fresh kisses after the meal... =)
Buffalo wings ($5)... it's crispy fried like KFC's chicken, as bao bei says it...
Seafood platter, single serving ($15): Comprises of calamari, onion rings, mussels, fish and prawns, all breaded, served on a bed of fries... The tar-tar sauce is splendid!!
Kurau fish - fish and chips ($15), breaded fish and chips...
The food is generally good, with a nostalgic 80's taste and feel to it... The taste of the food juz brings back old memories for me as it has that 80's taste and aroma to it... Even the cutlery has brown or blue margin trimmings along the border... beautiful...... This place would have been even more perfect if it's set in my hometown sunset way... =)
After dinner, bao bei wanted some desserts... We agreed on ice-cream and off we went to another luxuriously romantic place... We drove down to the Guthrie House along sixth avenue for Venezia ice cream...
We had 2 flavours, durian and cookies & cream...
After that, we took a walk around Cold Storage before heading home to watch our 'Wu Zong Xian' show...
And wat purr-fect way to end the night than some rock and roll on the bed... =p
I love you bao bei... Thank you for the perfect day!! *kiss*
