MiSs SiNgApOrE uNiVeRsE

It has been the talk of the town everywhere in the papers, to the new edition of 8 days... The Miss Singapore Universe 2006... Although it has ended 2 weekends ago, the gossips and tongue waggering is still lingering around...

Well, this year's pageant is one of the rare few that i really sit down to watch it from start til end... Most probably because bao bei also wanted to watch it... The little woman has been rushing me home ever since we were at Ikea to do our little shopping... When we left the place late, at 7.15pm, she got anxious and really wanted to get home asap to catch it... And so we hailed a cab from there and reached home 15 mins later, just in time for the opening ceremony... Phew... And my bao bei was one happy girl...

According to the media publicity, this year's contestants are one hell of beauty and brains... Quite a number of them are graduates or under-grads... Probably just to blow off the huge mindset that beauty WILL and DOES NOT go with brains... Well, dunno how true is that... Not surprisingly, this year's contestants from our little sunny island were not that fantastic either... They still dun have the ability to make heads turn and eyes staring at them at every corner... I would modestly said that majority were all average, or even below average in the eyes of 'high quality' expected of pageant girls... Only a handful were really worth the vote...

Many did have a voluptuous hour glass figure, with cups size bigger than the average women that you would normaly see in Singapore... And the swimsuit segment, the most favourite of all segments for all the dirty old hum-samp men, really let the world see how good a figure they have... With the bikinis covering only vital spots of the body, you can even see the sacredly clothed bikinis trying to cover the oversize boobies... And bikinis, don't quite measure up to the functions of bras, that provide good support... When the girls walk down the aisle in their heels, you can see their boobs having a hard time doing their balancing act... That certainly will set many hearts racing among the men...

And i would say first runner up, Jade Seah, should have win... She did impressively well in the question and answer segment, and most importantly, she have the beauty!! Good gracious!!

I would say the most difficult question to answer during the Q&A would be her's... When the question picked by her came from the famous criminal defense lawyer, Subhas Anandan, everyone in the audience let out a big "Whoa......" followed by laughter and giggles... They must be thinking... 'You cham already lah... So chim, how to answer?" Anyway, her question was:

"If you were given a chance, what is the law you'd elect or amend in Singapore?"

And impressively well she did... She calmy answered that she would want the law on child pornography over the internet be enacted... That led to a wide round of applause from the approving audience... And with regards to the final round question, "What do you think of the notion that local men seem less attractive as compared to foreign men?" She wittly end off her answer with

"Local men are perfectly fine. They juz need to be trained a bit."

That again drew laughter and applause from the audience... I guess, in many men's heart and mind, and even soul, she would have, undoubtedly, win the the pageant... Which guy in the world can stand against beauty, with brains, and also a little wit and humour? Awww...

Anyway, disappointingly, the pageant title went to Carol Cheong, the big boobs girl... It was a close and tough fight when only 2 girls were left unannounced on stage... Between hot favourite Jade Seah and her... I bet many guys were very diasppointed with the results... Is it because she had bigger boobs, that's why she won the pageant? What about our witty Cherryl Fox and Fiona Xie lookalike, who had the foxy eyes that can mersmerized our hearts? Why didn't she make it to the crown?

The pageant reminds me of something... If you realize, only the hot favourites since the start of the show, would have gotten into the final 10 finalists, juz like in the case of Miss Universe Pageant... The usual countries will get into the close fight... Singapore? Tough luck... So really, the other girls that fall behind are juz there, to add to the numbers... Further proof? Remember the name standings that always appear on the LCD screen juz before the commercial break? It's the usual few that garners the top few positions... All top three names were the last three to be called off stage... Which leads me to think... the beauty pageant seems fixed... Once you're condemned, you're really gone...

Hmm... But i'm quite confident that our Jade Seah would soon be asked to sign a contract with MediaCorp, based on her popularity and beauty... Joanne Peh didn't win the pageant, but look at how successful she's doing? So, i think i would speak for all the guys, that we will be looking forward to seeing more of her on our little screen... For the Jade Seah fans, all you can do for now is to just go buy the latest edition of 8 days, flip it to the page that has her photo on it, and hug it to sleep... Maybe you'll dream of her tonite... Sweet dreams...
